About Light Rae Customs
Who We Are
Some parts don’t exist anymore — and some never did in the first place.
When an OEM part is discontinued, a universal solution doesn’t fit, or a custom approach is simply the right answer, that’s where Light Rae Customs comes in.
Based in Macomb County, Michigan, Light Rae Customs specializes in functional additive manufacturing for real-world applications. I work with customers locally and ship custom parts nationwide, focusing on components that are designed to fit correctly, perform reliably, and hold up over time.
My name is Jordan, and I bring a mechanic’s mindset to custom 3D printing. By day, I’m a full-time European automotive mechanic in Metro Detroit — a profession built around diagnosing problems, understanding how systems work together, and creating solutions that perform in real conditions, not just on paper.
That same approach carries into every project here.
Why I Do This
The Thrill of the New
I’m a lifelong learner, and additive manufacturing is constantly evolving.
New materials, tighter tolerances, and improved print quality open the door to better solutions. I stay hands-on with the process, continuously refining techniques and materials to meet the demands of real-world use.
Custom Solutions
I enjoy solving the problems that don’t have off-the-shelf answers. Discontinued parts, broken components, awkward fitments, and one-off ideas are where custom manufacturing makes the most sense. If something needs to be thought through rather than pulled from a shelf, this is where I do my best work.
End-to-End Craftsmanship
From initial design to final post-processing, every step is handled in-house. Each part is approached with the same care and attention I give a precision mechanical repair — because details matter, and “close enough” usually isn’t good enough.
“Very accommodating on a custom request. High quality 3D printing. Very happy with the custom vent. Fast shipping and well packaged.” -Curtis
The Master Mechanic’s Edge
Being a mechanic isn’t just about fixing parts — it’s about understanding why things fail and how to make them work better.
Whether I’m diagnosing a complex mechanical issue or dialing in a tight-tolerance print, the approach is the same: understand the application first, then build the right solution. Material choice, print orientation, tolerances, and real-world conditions are considered on every project.
When you work with Light Rae Customs, you’re not just getting a printed part. You’re getting a solution designed by someone who understands durability, fit, and how components are actually used.
Who I Work Best With
Light Rae Customs is a good fit if you’re looking for:
A replacement part that’s no longer available
A functional custom component — not something decorative
A prototype that needs testing, refinement, or iteration
A one-off project that requires thought and precision
If you care about how something works — not just how it looks — we’ll work well together.
Let’s build something together.
Not every project fits neatly into a product listing. If you’re dealing with a discontinued part, a broken component, or an idea that needs to be worked through, I’m happy to take a look.
